Currently working in corporate finance at a large professional services firm, simultaneously working towards chartered accountancy qualification, the ACA.
With degrees in MSc Banking and Finance and BSc Economics, both obtained from a top Russell Group University. In no particular order, I love Physics and Economics! In my spare time I enjoy boxing, gymming and travelling.
I have been tutoring over the last four years, with a wide experience of tutoring students from very diverse backgrounds and abilities, from secondary schools right up to those who need psychometric coaching in their working lives!
My personal approach to learning includes a list of "things I need to know," ticking off the checklist as I progress. I will apply the same principle to my students, ensuring we cover everything, and then review that information periodically to ensure we have left no stones unturned. Aside from Economics, I have varied interests spanning physics, architecture, art, science, so hope I would be able to rouse even more interest in my students and help them gain a broader appreciation of their chosen subject.
As a recent student myself, I understand how one niggling question could derail an otherwise successful revision session, so I make myself available to students (past and present!) who wish to text/call me with regards to any queries they may have, in those hours of need.
One thing that has become apparent over the course of time, is some tutees, once wide-eyed and eager to learn, gradually become disenchanted and overwhelmed as the burden of work increases. For that reason I do request parents keep me updated of their work-life balance, so I can ensure the lessons are not overly onerous, and as fun and motivational as possible! For the students that do remain eager to learn, and work hard, I will reward (if reward is the right word!) them with free lessons and extra lesson time!
Finally, as a recent graduate, and having been through the hurdles of securing graduate job offers, I am keen to help others navigate this terrain of endless verbal, numerical and logical tests- with my area of expertise being financial and ancillary industries.
