I am both a qualified doctor and teacher and take great pride and pleasure in engaging and teaching young people and adults.
I undertook the PGCE and successfully completed with Merits both Primary and Secondary placements as a teacher. I have further teaching experience at Secondary level and have also engaged young people by providing informal education as a young peoples' worker. I have various teaching and learning skills which enable me to stimulate learners using various teaching and learning techniques. I have been providing private tuition for pupils in Core Primary subjects and Science at both Primary and Secondary levels for the last twelve years and so have a proven track record.
My approach to tutoring is tailored to the learner depending on their individual requirements, whether it be an exam focused approach or to increase knowledge and depth on a particular subject or focus area. I will initially assess current abilities/skills and then set realistic targets and build on developing these until they are achieved. I will continually monitor progress and feed this back to parents with copies of work always on hand to view. Extra work can be given if required to do as homework.
