I am a qualified teacher with several years of experience. I am searching for tutor work to fit around my family life.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching for over seven years. The majority of my career has been working across the younger years in primary schools. However, I have spent a year working for a charity that involved teaching secondary aged students (mainly GCSE age) on a 1:1 basis. I have also done primary and secondary age private tutoring previously that I thoroughly enjoyed and valued.
I have worked with many students who have specific learning and behaviour needs.

Tutoring Approach

I believe learning begins with a teacher who invests in building a positive relationship with students. From this relationship I try and meet the student's needs by tailoring teaching through a medium of their interest and make a plan based on progression. For example, if a student likes football, I would try and teach a range of English or Maths skills through this topic. This is the major benefit of personal tutoring as the teacher can pinpoint exactly where the needs are and make a personalised plan and then receive immediate feedback.
I always try and use a range of teaching methods i.e. hands on, visual and auditory aids and incorporate technology and games when possible.
