I have worked in Design in a number of industries for most of my working life. My main skiills are in 3D visualisation, Drawing skills, Modelmaking, Prototyping and Production Technology. I have worked recently as a self-employed Designer, and currently have a small Guitar making business, making electric guitars to my own design.
I am an effective communicator, I am passionate' about Art, Design and innovation. My teachuing experience has been positive, both students and myself.
Part - Time lecturing at Coventry, Sheffield Hallam, Nottingham Trent and Derby Universities, giving in total, about 15 years of HE Lecturing experience. I have also taught at West Notts College for a one year fixed term contract.
I have been a Supply Teacher for Monarch Education on both long and short term assignments and in a variety of subjects. This work was mainly to cover for teacher absence and rarely involved lesson planning, or pastoral work.
I believe in getting to know students in some detail, and my teaching tends towards informality, with a fairly relaxed manner and calm delivery. I plan work in detail, and prefer, if appropriate, to include an introductory presentation. I like to encourage lively debate with students, and try to create an atmosphere which encourages debate.
