Private Maths Tutor in Hampstead

I graduated from Cardiff University with a First Class Hons degree in physics, DBS checked. I am a confident well spoken individual with a passion for physics and mathematics. I have always been interested in the physics of what's around us and I thoroughly enjoyed my degree and excelled in it. I have an aptitude communicating complex problems and explaining these problems to people of various backgrounds and knowledge.

Tutoring Experience

At university I was a member of first campus, an outreach program to help local schools within the local area of Cardiff. This outreach program has given me the opportunity to work with many students of varying ability, all the way up to A-Level mathematics.

Studying Physics has excelled my mathematical basis and my communicative skills are being improved daily. This has inevitably helped me to respond to the requests of students upon walking into the classroom. I would typically work in a classroom environment helping small groups or students, on one occasion I taught a class of 29.

In the summer of 2018 I worked at Wildern school as part of the Wildern SCITT Internship program, where I spent 4 weeks in GCSE classes of varying ability (year 7 to year 10), acting as a TA but also running focused groups.

Tutoring Approach

I pride myself in helping students who are struggling, and challenge those to reach their full potential, ensuring my best to bridge the gap between the two. I encourage my students to ask all questions on their mind, even the obvious ones! I strive to be well organised with lesson plans but encourage adaptive learning targeting the key areas needing improvement. I have a propensity to better myself and those around me, pushing for any individual to reach their maximum potential.
