In September I received an email from a student who did A level Statistics with me online this year. He said: "S2 ... was one of my best exams, I got a high A up from a C last year. Thank you very much for all your help, I don't think I'd be going to the Uni I wanted without you!" Another A level student got an A star this year, he was not going to college and only had me. I have a first class honours degree in mathematics from Goldsmith's College London where I won the Stanley Hails Prize. (1997). For 8 years I worked in a state school teaching GCSE, A level, AEA and STEP. My students experience a noticeable boost in confidence after they start with me and I get about half my students on recommendation. I enjoy helping people to find interest in this subject whether at GCSE level or Cambridge entrance.
I started teaching mathematics for Thomas Jackson Tutors in Lampeter in 1987. I have given private tuition in mathematics since 1988, and I taught mathematics from GCSE to A level Further Mathematics AEA and STEP at an academy in Essex from 2009 to 2017. I do not cover Decision Mathematics or Modelling With Algorithms at A level.
My students usually have issues arising from their work in school or college so I go over in the lesson what students ask me to go over. I will structure a course for anyone who is not in school or college.
