Personal Description:

I am a graduate in Biochemistry and a Leading Practitioner for Science in an outstanding Surrey school. Previously, I have been a KS3 Co-ordinator in Science and Deputy Year 11 Co-ordinator in a London Borough of Sutton secondary school. I enjoy playing badminton (I played on my school and university teams). Alongside these, my interests outside of work include travelling abroad, socialising and watching films at the cinema.

Tutoring Experience:

I am a qualified secondary school Teacher of Science. I teach all three sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) to GCSE and Biology to Advanced Level. I have been an examiner for OCR and Edexcel examination boards for over 5 years and so I know what the examiners are looking for from students. I have written original mock examinations and other resources for education writing companies and my resources have been purchased by over 700 schools.

I have tutored students for A Level Biology, GCSE Triple Sciences and GCSE Foundation and Higher Science.

Previously, I have worked with pupils with special educational needs. I have also been a swimming and badminton coach at a leisure centre in Oxfordshire. In addition, I worked for two years as an auxiliary nurse at the Royal Surrey County Hospital.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach will centre around the tutee. It is important that s/he is comfortable with the approach in order for them to make expected or above expected progress. I will use a variety of techniques to include different learning styles and personal learning thinking skills in order to successfully answer the examination questions. Each session will have a variety of activities to assess the tutee's progress made in order to motivate them to achieve their full potential. I will be flexible and adapt the sessions in order to meet the tutee's individual needs.
