I am a professional musician and teacher, performing on a regular basis and teaching daily. I studied Music at the University of Southampton, specialising in performance and commercial composition, and graduated in 2014 with a 1st class degree.
Over the past 5 or 6 years, I have taught instrumental lessons to a large number of students, of all ages and abilities, many of whom I have helped prepare for performance exams, but also with the academic side of music GCSEs and A levels. I have set up this profile to offer more specifically academic music tuition, available to all, but aimed at those studying music at GCSE, A Level, BTEC etc. If you are looking for instrumental tuition, please select 'Music' from the very top of this page - I offer tuition for guitar, saxophone, clarinet and mandolin.
Studying music as an academic subject can be just as challenging as learning to play an instrument, for many of us even more so, but can also be just as rewarding. Having some private one to one tuition in addition to class lessons at school or college can make an enormous difference to both your knowledge and confidence in the subject. The opportunity to focus in depth on certain aspects that you need help with is invaluable, and even a handful of lessons can be enough to make a big difference.
I am happy to offer as many or as few lessons as you feel you need. I offer a reduction of £16 on the first lesson, so that you are not out of pocket after paying the FirstTutors finder's fee.
Please send me a message if you would like to know more or book a session.
