These sessions will focus on building the key skils needed at A-level Science and give students an opportunity to learn core topics essential to both AS and A2 study.

There is a significant jump from GCSE to A-level making tuition in the lead up to September invaluable for students endeavouring to succeed.

I’m an online private tutor, specialising in A-level Chemistry, Biology, and GCSE Science. I also occasionally help students at undergraduate level with both Chemistry and Pharmacology.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a private tutor for over three years during which I've delivered over 900 hours of teaching. This experience has been a mix of 1-to-1 tutorials as well as revision courses over the Easter and whitsun holidays.

I primarily tutor students at A level or GCSE. However, I also have experience teaching undergraduate students studying Chemistry and Pharmacology.

During my time as a tutor I've successfully worked and supported students with various abilities to achieve their desired results.

The success of my students is the metric by which I measure my own success and I'm extremely proud of the progression students make with my tutoring and support.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to teaching is student led. All of my 1-to-1 tutorials are structured around the individual needs and abilities of the student.

As a tutor, I believe the ability to adapt your teaching to suit the learning style of the student is critical.
I also believe a good working relationship and rapport with students is key to success and is something I endeavour to achieve with all the students I work with.

What I offer

Weekly Tutorials

The aim and structure of my weekly tutorials is to work through subject topics at a pace that suits the student.
Through discussing each topic at length I can gauge how well the student understands the material and where gaps are in their knowledge.

One of my approaches to teaching science is to breakdown complicated concepts into easily understandable material. I achieve this through the use of analogies and application of topics to real world examples.

All tutorials are followed up with comprehensive notes and Handouts.
I also work with students to complete exam style questions on each topic we cover.

By frequently tackling past paper questions students are better prepared for their exams and feel more confident in their knowledge and ability to effectively tackle exam level questions.

Students undertaking weekly tutorials will also benefit from advice and guidance on exam technique and revision strategies. This is important aspect of my tutoring service and a key factor to the success of my students in their examinations.

As a full time tutor, I uniquely offer my students email support 7 days a week. This allows students to seek guidance and assistance with homework, ask questions about topics and request additional resources such as extra notes and handouts.
