I am a qualified and experienced school/college Maths teacher and private tutor holding a Maths degree and currently teaching A level Maths and further maths in one of the highest acheiver schools in somerset. I have a passion to help students achieve their fullest potential which has been reflected in the excellent grades my students at my school achieved in the summer 2016 exams at all levels with 40% scoring 100% in their A-Level Further Maths papers to illustrate. During the same time, I have pushed the grades of my private tutees to A/A* from their former levels of C/D.

Tutoring Experience

Following my PGCE in Maths, I was snapped-up by a Maths and Science specialist school where I was able to demonstrate my most significant achievements to date from introducing and designing the curriculum for A-Level Further Maths to aiding students to achieve very high grades, the best the school has had.

In my current college, I have been selected to teach the most challenging levels of Maths and prepare selected students for the Oxbridge entrance exams.

I have been offering private tutoring since my university days and every single one of my private students was able to exceed their predicted grades.

Tutoring Approach

In my first session, I undertake an assessment of the student to establish their current level and identify the weaker areas. Then I custom design a curriculum which is tailored for that individual student to specifically target the identified areas to maximize beneficial learning and avoid wasting time on the wrong areas.

The lessons taught during the session are then followed up by setting homework to practice and consolidate the learning which I mark in my own time and review with the student at the start of the next lesson if required. This approach has proven my students to rapidly progress which has been noted by their school teachers and reflected in the higher grades attained in the end of year exams than they were predicted.

To target the highest grade possible at any level, students should commence private tuition as soon as possible to ensure all topics can be covered in time.
