I am a qualified and experienced Maths teacher with over 12 years of teaching expertise at both school and college levels. Throughout my career, I have taught students across all key stages, from KS1 to A-level Maths and Further Maths, ensuring that each lesson is tailored to meet the specific needs of my learners.

I am well-versed in delivering lessons for various exam boards, including Edexcel, AQA, OCR, OCR MEI, and CIE. My adaptability allows me to align my teaching style to the unique requirements of each board, ensuring that students are fully prepared for their exams.

With over 15,000 hours of private tutoring experience, I have developed an in-depth understanding of both in-person and online teaching. Tutoring Experience

I am a dedicated Mathematics teacher with extensive experience working at various institutions, including Space Studio Banbury, Queen Elizabeth College Leicester, and Kings of Wessex Academy Cheddar. I offer private mathematics tuition, primarily online, and cover a range of levels, from KS2, KS3, GCSE, to A-Level, including all applied modules and Further Maths.

Throughout my career, I’ve taught students with diverse abilities, from Year 5 to A-Level Further Maths. My students consistently show significant improvement, with many advancing from low grades, such as 'U's in their mock exams, to achieving top results. For instance, in 2019, several A-Level students who initially received a 'U' or 'E' in their mock exams went on to earn an 'A' in their final exams. I am committed to helping my students achieve at least two grade improvements with regular sessions.

In the 2022 A-Level exams, five of my students achieved perfect scores in their mechanics and statistics modules. One of these students also received perfect scores in all of her pure mathematics modules and was accepted into an Oxbridge university. Achieving perfect scores on A-Level exams is a rare accomplishment, and I take great pride in my students' success.

I have an in-depth understanding of the mathematics curriculum and exam requirements, including the most efficient strategies for answering exam questions. I use a variety of resources, including practice papers from alternative sources and specially selected problems that challenge students’ problem-solving abilities. My approach includes training students with more difficult exam questions so they are well-prepared for the real exam, which often feels easier by comparison.

Additionally, I create my own tailored exam questions that focus on problem-solving techniques and modeling, specifically designed to help students perform well in the new GCSE and A-Level math formats. These questions are based on the latest curriculum updates, current exam papers, and examiner reports. I have an extensive knowledge of exam questions from the last 16 years, allowing me to make highly accurate predictions. For example, in the 2017 A-Level mechanics paper, I predicted two questions correctly, and in 2018, I predicted four out of five. I frequently predict over half of the GCSE exam questions accurately.

Tutoring Approach

In my first session, I begin by assessing the student’s current level to identify any areas of weakness. This allows me to design a customized curriculum that directly addresses those areas, ensuring efficient and targeted learning. By focusing on what truly needs attention, I maximize the student's progress and avoid wasting time on topics that don’t require as much focus.

During each session, I provide lessons that are followed by carefully chosen homework assignments to reinforce and consolidate the material covered. I take the time to mark the homework and, if necessary, review it with the student at the beginning of the next session. This consistent cycle of targeted learning and feedback has helped my students make rapid progress, with many seeing significant improvements in their grades, often outperforming their initial predictions.

To achieve the highest possible grades, it is ideal for students to begin private tuition as early as possible. This ensures enough time to cover all essential topics thoroughly and maximizes their chances of success.
