Qualified Chartered Accountant, with a BSc Mathematics and Management First Class Honours degree from Loughborough University. I have successfully delivered many lessons via Zoom, with students receiving a copy of the lesson notes and questions covered, as well as topic summaries. I am currently working as a management accountant and am available to teach on weekends.
I was inspired to become a Maths tutor from my own experience of studying both A-Level and GCSE Mathematics. It was a subject I feared myself, but quickly became my favourite when my own tutor broke it down into simple terms for me - I aim to do the same for my own students. Whilst the subject can be challenging, I approach the topics together with the student by breaking it down and summarising into bite-size pieces. I also focus on question practice and exam preparation.
I believe my experience of going through university, looking for a job and obtaining a professional qualification will also help my students to gain more insight into the professional working world. I would be happy to mentor my students and provide them with any advice on further education and jobs.

I have three years of recent tutoring experience for both A-Level (OCR and Edexcel) and GCSE Maths (Edexcel).

Tutoring Approach

I am friendly and approachable to all students. I aim to understand what topics my students find the most challenging and base my lessons around these more difficult areas first. My lessons are more focused on question practice enabling the student to go through different question types and practice different techniques so they can build their confidence to approach questions on their own.
I prefer one-to-one study as I can focus on the student's individual needs - this also allows me to adapt my teaching method to their learning needs.
During the pandemic, I have moved to teaching online via Zoom. Review of topics and question practice is covered on an online whiteboard. I send these lesson notes and topic summaries to the student following each lesson for their revision.
