I am a passionate and reliable Mandarin teacher, fluent in native Mandarin, dedicated to fostering an interactive and engaging learning experience. With a deep appreciation for Chinese culture, I integrate cultural elements into my lessons to provide a comprehensive language learning experience. Whether teaching beginners or preparing students for HSK exams, I tailor my instruction to individual needs. I believe in equipping students with practical language skills for both personal interests and business use. Additionally, I introduce the art of calligraphy to deepen cultural understanding. Tutoring Experience

From 2016 to 2018, I worked as a 1:1 Mandarin teacher, providing personalized instruction to HSK exam students and adult learners/professionals. During this time, I honed my skills in tailoring lessons to meet individual needs and goals.

In 2016-2017, I taught Mandarin at The Birmingham Chinese School, specifically Class 3A, consisting of 12 students aged 6 to 7 years old. This experience allowed me to develop engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans to foster language acquisition and cultural understanding.

Prior to that, in 2014-2015, I served as a Teacher Assistant at Shirley Heath Junior School, supporting Year 3 students in their academic journey.

Through these various teaching experiences, I have gained valuable insights into different age groups and educational settings, enhancing my ability to create effective and engaging learning environments.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to tutoring Mandarin is interactive and focused on each learner's unique abilities and goals. I design individually tailored lesson plans that incorporate cultural elements, such as festivals, to make learning enjoyable for beginners and casual learners. For HSK exam takers, I target their specific exam requirements. Additionally, I emphasize practical language skills for business professionals, enabling them to effectively communicate in a professional setting. I provide regular assessments and homework that align with each learner's targets, ensuring progress and reinforcing learning.
