Rebecca

Hello, my name is Rebecca. I recently graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) in Manchester with a Diploma of Higher Education. During my time at the RNCM I specialised in trumpet performance in classical, jazz, pop and contemporary styles.

Tutoring Experience

My teaching experience started in London, with Wandsworth Music. There I gained valuable experience teaching whole class, small group and 1-2-1 lessons and ensembles. This teaching was aimed at children aged 6-18, so I have had opportunities to teach children and young adults of varying ages. Most of what I did focused on instrumental brass teaching, specialising in trumpet teaching.
Since moving to Manchester I have done some private 1-2-1 teaching with adult beginners. I love teaching and would love to be able to share my knowledge with from all backgrounds.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching approach focuses on the pupil and what they want out of the lessons. For instance, a beginner want to learn an instrument to a high enough standard to join their local brass band. On the other hand, a more experienced player may want guidance to help them get into top universities or conservatoires. Whatever your goal is, I will do my best to help you achieve it.
When a new pupil starts learning with me, I will note what they are doing well and what they can improve on. This alongside with the pupil's personal aspirations will shape my lesson planning so that it is tailored to each person.
