Tutoring Experience

1 year private tutoring at GCSE level: my first student was predicted 4's (equivalent to grade C) when I started tutoring her and she went on to get 7's (equivalent to grade A) in her Maths and Science GCSEs.
5 semesters' experience teaching programming to undergraduate Physics students at the University of Surrey (2018-2021).
Very adept at communicating ideas to others in a way that makes sense to them so that they can truly gain an understanding of the topic in question and apply that understanding to future problems.

Tutoring Approach

I ask the tutee what they understand of the topic so far and what they feel they do not, and then break down the problem into simpler components that the tutee can then develop their understanding of, be it through visual mapping, auditory techniques or other methods. Each person's learning style is different, and I aim to find the most efficient way to complement that style in order to maximise learning.
