I am currently teaching A-Level AQA chemistry in an Outstanding Sixth Form College in Manchester. I have also worked in an Outstanding Grammar School in the Trafford area teaching Biology, Chemistry and KS3 Science. Prior to completing the PGCE I graduated from the University of Manchester with a BSc (Hons) Degree in Chemistry. I am also an examiner for one of the A-level exam boards so have a thorough knowledge of the specification.
I am an enthusiastic and friendly person and I am confident that I can provide up to date resources for tuition and have excellent knowledge of exam specifications and examination boards.
I have spent a large amount of time in schools so I know the National Curriculum and GCSE/A-Level specifications very well. I currently teach pupils aged 16-19 and I have tutored GCSE and A-Level students in the past, all of whom have made vast improvements on their grades and have performed well in exams. I also have a full current CRB check and would be able to provide references if needed.
My approach to tuition would be to see what the students strengths and weaknesses were and identify any problem areas. I would work with them to improve their confidence in the subject, work closely with their school targets and what their school specification is asking for. I would provide up to date resources and exam practice where needed including past papers and questions that can only be supplied by a qualified teacher.For online lessons I would use microsoft teams and work with a tablet so that all written work and annotations can be easily viewed and saved. Having taught during distance learning I have a high level of competency for online teaching and resources are adapted for these style of lessons.
