I am a highly motivated, reliable, friendly and professional tutor. I am currently employed as a Lecturer of Psychology at an Independent College with extensive experience (over 16 years) of teaching and tutoring Psychology (AQA 'A' specification) and Sociology (AQA specification).
I am passionate about my subjects and enjoy working with young people and passing on this passion to them as well as motivating them to reach their potential.
I have the ability to explain and breakdown complicated terminology, theories and concepts to my students thereby increasing their confidence and making their workload more manageable.
Beyond increаsed cоnfidence аnd deeper understаnding аcrоss subjects, my students repоrt their A Level аnd оther mаrks have surpаssed their schооls’ fоrecаsts.
I have extensive experience teaching and tutoring the AQA specifications for Sociology and the AQA 'A' specification for Psychology. My students usually achieve at least two grades higher than their predicted grade.
During the past 16 years, I have also taught private students both subjects at A level on a one-to-one and small group basis.
My approach is very student-centred tailored to each student's individual needs. I use a two-way interactive approach with a focus on problem areas and difficulties that the student may need to work through. I tend to use to use a variety of teaching techniques such as discussions, white board and powerpoint slides.
My tutoring sessions are set out to build upon students' existing knowledge and developing this further. My approach is very student-centred tailored to each student's specific requirements. I use a two-way interactive approach with a focus on tackling areas of weakness that the student may need to work through.
Regular, constructive feedback on student's progress is always provided so that specific skills and techniques can be worked on to reach target grades.
I believe that in order to achieve success, students benefit from learning how to write excellent essays, working through past exam papers and plenty of practice answering exam questions.
