I am an experienced Youth Worker who brings the youth work skills and academic experience of over 14 years into Maths, English, History and Geography tuition. I am very passionate about those subjects as they are my particular favourites and I have continued study and learning in them. Following from my BA Hons in Youth Work I acquired 11 years’ experience working for various local authorities in a number of different roles providing youth work, education in schools, training courses and mentoring to young people in need of support and education. I was very successful as a youth workers and have now set up my own business in Educational Support Services.

Tutoring Experience

Youth Work is education through conversation, about working with young people to develop a curriculum which is effective and delivers meaningful outcomes and I have been involved in doing that full-time for the last 11 years. I have also delivered health, confidence, communication and well-being lessons in school and pupil referral units, delivered 1-2-1 sessions and group work in community centres. I have also delivered many training sessions in youth work and youth work skills and have taught and assessed Youth Work at Level 2 and 3.

Tutoring Approach

My approach it tutoring is a holistic one, enabling the student to have a full understanding of the what, how and why for every task and theme within the particular subject. This approach enables the student to own their learning and therefore encourages a greater engagement, enthusiasm and motivation for study. My approach also develops the student’s confidence, self-esteem and resilience in approaching learning and the subject itself this is done by bringing in my youth work skills and bringing a mentoring element into the set curricula.
