I decided to start tutoring after my experience in trying to get tutors for my own children. As a professional working internationally I thought it would be easy to hand over this important element of their education to someone with both experience and patience. My notion was quickly turned on its head. The Tutors I found taught textbook style with the one shoe fits all approach. My children and others didn't fit into that mould. I very quickly realised that I could do a better job and took the role in house, initially teaching my own daughters before extending out to their friends.
To date I have tutored over 50 children who have gone onto their chosen schools and streams. I believe that tutoring should be about delivering skills to children that they can carry with them throughout their young lives and provide a solid platform on which to develop.
Have tutored key stage 2,3 and 4. Including A level and IB
11 and 13 plus students as well as common entrance applicants.
Recently started to tutor mildly dyslexic students in English comprehension and Language.
I am currently working with a number of GCSE english students as well as writing essays for publication in English Literature, Sociology and Business GCSE and AS level. As well as E papers for 11 plus students.
In 2015 I commenced working with home schooled children and to date have enjoyed a very pleasant experience witnessing their growth both in confidence and knowledge.
I believe children work better when they are able to understand the subject. This is not always possible when they are in a traditional classroom. I build on that understanding and work at their own pace. I work with each child so that we travel the learning journey together. This way as the subject intensifies they are able to move on seamlessly.

Oliver enjoys working with Paula and he has made good progress. He likes that she is encouraging and pushes him to achieve more. It is always nice to receive positive feedback from both Paula and Oliver when I pick him up!
Glad to have found her. Both boys are making good progress and look forward to their session with Paula.
We have some way to go, but Paula has a good way with him, she is on a level with my thinking as a tutor, and my son is happier now she is there for him… F R0ss-Elmer
Your lessons seem interesting and are stretching her more than she is used to which is a good thing.
Although she generally lacks the confidence to say that she does not understand something, I believe this will change as she is very comfortable being herself with you.
Sophie looks forward to coming to you now and although she finds the homework challenging, she is keen to complete it for you.
Thank you for your work so far and I look forward to seeing how Sophie progresses under your guidance.
So far so good I'm pleased my daughter had her.
Olivia is really enjoying the tutoring.
I would highly recommend Paula.
With Paula's help my daughter has progressed up a level in maths, and is very enthusiastic an excellent tutor.
