Hello I'm Paul, I I have a First Class degree in English Literature, and A*s in both English Literature & Language. I've tutored hundreds of GCSE and A Level students - and never given up on one yet! I love tutoring and helping students achieve their academic potential. My experience has shown every student is capable of achieving at least one grade higher than they are predicted, sometimes two or three.

Tutoring Experience

For a number of years I ran a well-known publishing company specialising in guide books for GCSE and A Level English Literature students, so I've spent a lot of time understanding the (ever changing) syllabus and text! I have also written mock exam papers and features in a number of videos for one of the UK's leading revision websites; the videos have had 100,000s views. Creating the content along with examiners, students, teachers and other students has given me a proven formula to help students excel in their exams.

Tutoring Approach

I have a very patient tutoring style and appreciate that everybody learns at a different pace and with an individual approach. I am also able to help students with general essay writing and exam preparation, particularly helping them to research, plan, structure and edit their written work.

While my focus is on improving students' academic abilities, I am also very aware of the challenges and pressures involved with homework and exams. I can also help with timetabling, time management and mentoring to help keep students on track and in control of their target grades.
