I am a university student currently studying Civil Engineering at Imperial College London. Graduating from Harrow School Bangkok, I was awarded the headmasters award for leadership and received 4 A*s for my A level with an A in geography AS. Being appointed head boy and house captain in school, I had the privilege of working with many students - one of the most important skills I learnt was to be approachable and that I believe is how effective student teacher relationships start.
Having been part of many communities within my school, I was required to teach students with a range of learning abilities. My main teaching experience was a school programme where I taught GCSE and A-Level mathematics and physics for two years and in many of my holidays I volunteer as a teacher at Thai rural communities where I engage with children with ADHD and different learning disabilities. Through these experiences I've had the privilege of teaching kids from kindergarten to 6th form.
My approach to tutoring is different for different students, some might be visual learners, some might be kinaesthetic and some may be auditory. I believe that the best type of teaching should be established before any academic engagement. Furthermore, I am a strong believer of understanding and not imitating - this is one approach that I've held true throughout all my teaching experiences and throughout my academic career. I will always teach my students to understand the problem, understand the working out and understand the solution - this will never change. With this mentality reinforced by experiences and the skills that I've learnt throughout different programmes, I am ready to take on any challenges that arise.
