I have a degree in English and American Literature from the University of Kent, Canterbury and a PGCE in English and Drama from Christ Church College, Canterbury.
I have an interest in creative writing. I am currently preparing three novellas for publication as well as submitting short stories for publication. I have write non-fiction magazine articles and reviews. It is important to aid students in the clarity of self expression and relevance of content in relation to their written work for their exam preparation.

I am PGCE qualified and I have over 18 years experience as an English Tutor at Secondary and A Level.
I have developed extensive experience as a one-to-one A Level and GCSE tutor of English and some History as well as aiding students in Humanities subjects at KS3, KS4 and KS5. I have aided students in the structuring of their essays, the development of their thought processes in responding to questions, and in helping students to improve their powers of self-expression when engaging with texts and related tasks.
I currently perform an academic mentoring role for KS5 students (16 to 18) which includes organisational guidance and study skills and 1 to 1 academic mentoring and I have 7 years experience working in Inclusion (SEN).

It is always my intention to aid students in maximising their talents. I strive to conduct all of my lessons in a productive, yet friendly manner.
One size does not fit all. Each student is unique and tutoring has to be adapted to each student's core strengths.
It is the nature of the system that students at KS4 and beyond will ultimately be judged on the essays they write in exam situations. The importance of developing a facility for writing them as effectively as possible cannot be underestimated.
