***Please see feedback from my class of 2017 English GCSE students and their parents:***
In total 7 students worked with me most going from 3's previously to 5's and above after working with me.
"Well Ali smashed English, from a 3 to a 5 on both papers with your help can't thank you enough! THANK YOU from a happy mum!"
"Luke felt he learnt better exam techniques from Nick that was not offered at school. Luke also gained confidence. Nicks passion for English was obvious and this helped encourage luke. He thoroughly enjoyed his lessons.
Luke was not particularly struggling in English but wanted to improve his grades, he was a little worried that having a tutor was for those that struggled. Nick quickly assessed Luke and the lessons were very well prepared for his needs.
We would recommend Nick without a doubt - we only wish we had found him sooner. We hope that he is still tutoring when it's my youngest turn!
Luke got a 7 in literature and a 5 in language. He is very pleased with his 7. A in English is something he never thought possible. Thank you again for everything."
"Emmie got 5 in both her English exams. So she's over the moon and off to insert day tomorrow at the college in London. Hope you've had a lovely summer and will recommend you to anyone I come across who needs an English tutor. Thanks again for all your help."
"Thank you so much for everything that you did to help Tom, without you he would not have got into 6th form. They say one mark off a five in literature so it is going for a remark!"
"Thomas got a 5. He would not have done that without your help for which we're very grateful."
"Nick taught me valuable skills for my exams, this gave me the ability to approach questions in a more structured and focused manner. Nick also gave me techniques in remembering quotes from text and showing me how to go into more detail to maximise my marks.
I was really worried that I would not achieve the grades to move onto 6th form, as English is not my strongest subject. I had to achieve a grade 4 or above, which I am really happy to say that I got, and most definitely this was through Nicks guidance and support.
I highly recommend Nick, without him I think I would have failed my English GCSE. I enjoyed the sessions with Nick, he made them interesting."
I have been a tutor since 2011 and currently teach at degree level at a college in Bedford through the University of Northampton and also 2 academies in Cambridgeshire.
I'm young and enthusiastic and have a very relaxed and fun approach to getting the work done.
If you'd like to pair up with a friend/s I currently offer a discount and do one hour sessions for £20 per person!
For those looking for revision sessions in the lead up to exams I recommend 1 x one or two hour lesson per week for 6-8 weeks before the exam. In these lessons we will cover the Eng Lang paper before revising key themes and ideas behind the texts you are studying (Eng Lit Paper 1) and then move onto past papers and essay structure. We normally finish with two hours or more on your poetry and of course the (scary) not so scary unseen poem (It's really not that scary when you know how!) I appreciate - and remember how school work can sometimes by boring which is why I bring an engaging and fun way of working into your home and that I can promise.
For students wishing to get a head-start and have lessons one year or two before the GCSE I recommend a one or two hour lesson at the end of every month. This is to go over everything you have learnt in the classroom environment at school and put that into a safe and detailed one-to-one environment to really solidify all your knowledge. * I cannot recommend this enough - especially if you are in a packed classroom with other disruptive students which can make you feel like you're not getting the attention from the teacher that you need. That's what I'm here for!
I also am an acting coach for students wishing to audition for Drama School.

In my son's words, "I feel I've learned more with Niçk than I have in the last year at school." He has also commented that he actually "likes English now." This is of particular importance as he is taking his GCSE's this year.
Nick has always been very personable and works hard with my son, giving lots of constuctive criticism balanced with plenty of praise and encouragement.
I would not hesitate in recommending Nick to anyone looking for an English tutor!
I would highly recommend Nick to anyone struggling with English.
