Private Maths and English Tuition in Liverpool

NEW - Tuesday-Friday daytime sessions from September

Hi. My name is Natalie and I am a qualified Primary teacher in Liverpool. I graduated in 2012 from the University of Leeds with a BSc in Psychology and then received my qualified teacher status in 2013 by completing a Primary PGCE at Liverpool Hope University. Before having my son, Joshua, in 2018, I was a Year 6 teacher at a school in South Liverpool, so understand the pressures and expectations our children face before they reach secondary school. After returning to work after Maternity Leave, I taught across the school year groups on a part-time basis.

We welcomed our second son, Theo, in March 2020 just before lockdown. Instead of returning to working in the classroom, I decided to build up my tutoring business ‘Tuition by Natalie’ which has now gone online via Zoom!

I am thoroughly enjoying working 1:1 with children and helping them achieve their personal goals.

Tutoring Experience

Whilst training, I taught every year group across a range of schools. Since qualifying, I have taught Years 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. In 2017, my first year as a teacher in a Year 6, I helped my students achieve the best SATS results since the new Curriculum was introduced. The following year, our SATS results were also excellent.

Over the past few years, I have supported children with preparing for entrance exams for schools such as Bluecoat, Liverpool College and Belvedere.

I have taught children with Special Educational Needs who are in a mainstream school, as well as having personal experience with an older brother who has Aspergers Syndrome.

Tutoring Approach

I spend the first session getting to know the child, finding any gaps in their knowledge and then putting together an action plan to support their learning.

Some of my tutees prefer to revisit learning completed in school during the week, whereas others want to have ‘pre-teaching’ sessions so they are more confident going into lessons the following week.

Either way, my sessions are fun, child-centered and active!

ONLINE SESSIONS - all of my sessions are now online via Zoom.
