I hold an MA in Production Design for Film and Television, and a BA Hons in Furniture Design and Applied Arts. I have worked as a Production Designer for 16 years. I head up and collaborate with large teams of creative people on TV and Film productions.
As part of my role, I liaise with artists, designers and skilled craftspeople. I collaborate with directors, cinematographers, writers and many other talented media professionals. My work involves designing the worlds within TV Drama and Film using research, project management, presentation, large scale set construction amongst many other things.
As a tutor, I've previous experience tutoring Art, Media, Craft and Design privately with students. I enjoy the learning process and empowering others to tap into their full potential. At work, I often work with young art graduates at the start of their career.
A creative career can be very rewarding, and often very competitive. Art and design is also a great activity for pleasure outside of work or learning.
I am passionate about my specialism/ subjects and I’m down to earth and realistic about the work involved.
My approach is open and flexible, based on what the 'student' is looking to work on.
I'd initially suggest an email or phone call to make sure I'm the right fit for what you are seeking.
