I went from 6s and 7s at GCSE to A*,A*,A at a level, (landing me my dream place at university) after I taught myself how to learn effectively, and I wish to pass my knowledge and experience onto students to help them achieve results they never would've thought they could achieve.
I'm a friendly and laid back person who will use my recent experience to provide more relatable feedback, explanations and advice to make studying a far more enjoyable experience. I tailor every lesson to the students needs and preferences to maximise their learning effectiveness in a way which supplements their learning in school.
My aim is to spark a students interest in learning to enable them to excel at both their current and future level of study.
I am soon to be entering my second year in an Accounting and Finance degree at the University of Warwick and am working at a First Class Honours, so I also have understanding extending above the courses I teach.
I'm the person that people in lessons go to for help when they don't want to ask the teacher, so I've spent many hours helping my peers and explaining things in a different way to help them understand concepts more effectively.
I am not a naturally smart student, so I have learnt ways to improve memory retention and understanding which inevitably helped me attain top A level grades.
I have about 200 hours of professional tutoring experience with students working at both low and high grades, and with learning difficulties, making me confident in delivering subject content. While working with me, we saw a significant jump in their academic and personal performance through transferable skills that last for life.
I also have professional online teaching experience in Clash of Clans (I've ranked 1st in the UK), which helped me learn how to structure and deliver effective lessons that make the most of our available time.
I make sure to tailor every lesson to a students specific needs and learning style to ensure we maximise every minute of every lesson.
I utilise digital technology to improve the quality of lessons over an in person lesson, including digital resources and sketches which can be accessed anywhere and are far easier for students to find when it comes to revision.
I use my recent personal experiences when I sat these exact subjects myself, to provide a more realistic and personal experience which students can relate to, including how I managed to take my GCSE grades from 6s and 7s to A*,A*,A at A Level through smarter revision techniques.
