I have been teaching for 38 years and have great exerience of the current A-level specifications. I have been an examiner for Edexcel A-level Physics and have also tutored privately in the North London area. I am prepared to travel locally but would prefer tutees to come to my house in Walthamstow.

Tutoring Experience

I taught in a Hertfordshire comprehensive secondary school including Nuffield A-level Physics,
I then taught at Barnet College for 23 years, mainy A-level Physics (London/ Edexcel) & GCSE Maths & Physics as well as adult evening classes. I was then Head of Department at Haringey Sixth Form and Brooke House College while teaching A-level Physics (Edexcel/ OCR).
I retired in summer 2018.

Tutoring Approach

I always try to find out my tutees' strengths & weaknesses and their style of learning first. I like to explore the concepts as well as misconceptions they have and use varied examples to develop their ideas. I use a lot of practice questions to reveal their grasp of the concepts and skills that they need to improve. I like to give positive feedback to improve their confidence and help them become more aware of what they need to do to achieve their goals.
