I am a fully qualified teacher currently teaching (and Head of Department) Computer Science at a secondary school. I am also an Associate Assistant Head at the school. I have a PhD in Computer Science, have a professional background in the IT industry as a software developer and have also tutored for many years. I am a member of the Computing At Schools (CAS) teaching network and I am a Master Teacher.
I have taught Computer Science and ICT as a private tutor and in mainstream schools for over 30 years. I have previously run a tutorial centre Removed and have taught the youngest GCSE ICT and A Level Computer Science students in the UK, breaking the record on a number of occasions.
I am a patient teacher and believe in trying different approaches in order to find the best way for a student to understand. I believe all children (and adults!) have the ability and capacity to succeed and it is the responsibility of the teacher to find the best method. One method doesn't fit all!
