I am a qualified teacher and have both a PhD & MSc in Computer Science. I'm currently teaching Computer Science in a secondary school (Head of Department & Associate Assistant Headteacher). I tutor OCR, AQA, Edexcel, and iGCSE specs. and have examiner experience (OCR) at GCSE and A level. I have tutored for many years and worked in a university setting. I have tutored Undergraduate and Postgraduate students and have supported many students with modules in their Computing Degrees. I have a 20 year professional background in the IT industry as a senior software developer and project manager.
I have taught Computer Science and ICT as a private tutor and in mainstream schools for over 35 years. I have previously run a tutorial centre Removedand have taught the youngest GCSE ICT and A Level Computer Science students in the UK, breaking the record on a number of occasions. I am a member of the Computing At Schools (CAS) teaching network and I'm a Master Teacher. I have worked in the software, communications and electronics industries and have been a company director to 4 separate companies.
I am a patient teacher and believe in trying different approaches in order to find the best way for a student to understand. I believe all children (and adults!) have the ability and capacity to succeed and it is the responsibility of the teacher to find the best method. One method doesn't fit all!
