I am a highly experienced professional tutor, having had the privilege to teach more than 400 students in the last 15 years.
I am well-familiar both with the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence, as well as with the English GCSE / A-level syllabus (AQA exams).
I am qualified to the highest level, having been awarded a PhD as well as a BSc in Physics (1st class), plus a MSc in Materials Science.
Prior to teaching I worked as a Research Scientist at Cranfield University (Welding Engineering Research Centre).
I have an established research record, which includes publications in peer-reviewed academic journals and international conferences.
My multi-discipline background further enables me to also offer academic tuition to University students, as well as proofreading services and general scientific advice.
I am currently employed as a Physics teacher at Basildon Upper Academy (online tuition) and I am also registered as a supply teacher with the Edinburgh Academy.
I was employed in the past by other High Schools in the Edinburgh area to deliver supplementary tutorial classes.
I acquired an additional 4 years of teaching experience in the academia (Heriot-Watt University).
Prior to focusing on teaching, I had worked as a Research Scientist at Cranfield University (Welding Engineering Research Centre).
I enjoy teaching students with a genuine interest in learning, either on a one-to-one basis, or in small groups.
I have a caring and motivating approach and I am able to explain things in a logical and meaningful manner that makes learning simple and efficient, tailored to the student's individual needs and style.
Every student is special to me, and I am genuinely excited by their success and their positive feedback.
