Information About Michael - Twickenham tutor
This is how 2 referees rated Michael:
My name is Michael,
I am a fully qualified teacher, a very experienced, professional teacher and tutor of Maths and Physics with 25 + years of successful tutoring and full-time secondary teaching across the full ability range, in the West of London: St. Mark's School and Cranford Community College, Hounslow and Ealing Tutorial College.
My home is in Whitton, Twickenham and from my home office I offer tuition face-to-face, if local, or, increasingly, "online" to students across the UK and worldwide, using Skype and other strategies for effective teaching and learning.
If you would like more details or to discuss your individual learning needs or to arrange a free - no obligation - preliminary meeting, please send me a message.
I have been teaching and tutoring Maths and Physics to A - Level, for over 25 years - as the Head of Physics in outstanding secondary schools and successfully tutoring all levels and all abilities.
I have extensive experience of teaching "face to face".
Where travelling distance is more than a few miles I can now offer just as effective tuition online.
There are more details below.
I use a student-centred approach and continuous assessment and feedback to find and fix gaps in the student's knowledge and understanding.
Possible strategies include (a) working through the syllabus (b) working through text book OR revision guide OR workbook OR exam papers . It depends on the difficulties the student has and the learning method favoured by the student.
My tutoring is tailored to meet the needs of the individual student, whether it be help with homework, coursework guidance, topics, exam preparation, past papers, etc. the student and parents WILL see improvement.
KS2 - Maths, English, Science; KS3 - Maths, Science; GCSE - Maths and Physics; A-Level Physics; QTS and PGCE preparation.
Parents report back to me that my tuition has definitely helped their son / daughter to reduce anxiety, heighten confidence and improve their grades in Maths or Science / Physics.
Remember that ONLINE tuition can be cheaper, more convenient and a more effective learning experience, Preliminary Skype meeting free. Try it and see ?
We use Skype for conversation.
We can use and share an interactive online whiteboard, just like a sheet of paper between us.
Student does not have to download anything to his / her computer (just Skype for free).
I use a graphics tablet and stylus to write on the board, and the student can write on it too, but doesn`t have to.
We make the online learning experience and working relationship just as effective as the face - to - face experience and relationship.
The benefits to the student of online tuition are:
• convenience of not having to travel. Great if you can`t find a local tutor. Or if you are overseas following a UK curriculum.
• no travel costs.
• no disruption to home life.
• working in familiar home environment or anywhere you can get wi-fi.
• more time slots available.
• good for either one-off help, short - term or longer term help with homeworks, topics or exam paper practice.
• no long - term contract.
• tuition when you need it.
• online support between lessons.
