Tutoring Experience

PGCE in Biology with Science; Queens University Belfast, June 2011.
I have my own learning and teaching resources and have experience with A-Level Biology practicals.
I mentor A-Level students for university interviews and I have an extensive archive of science magazines articles, news reports and videos which I make available for students.
I am a Biology examiner for CCEA which places me in a good position to enhance the examination technique of my students.
I have been tutoring A-Level CCEA Biology since 2012. Tutoring Approach

RESOURCES PROVIDED:
I upload:
(i) succinct and colourful summary sheets and past paper questions, on a per topic basis, to Google Drive; the content of the summary sheets is tailored to the mark schemes
(ii) past paper answer booklets of ALL questions from 1997 to the present year
(iii) videos per topic to aid understanding
(iv) learning log resources for extra reading. These enhance knowledge about a topic and increases scientific literacy (useful for interviews and for preparation for university courses) but also demonstrates how a topic is being used and expanded upon in real life situations, highlighting its importance and applicability to careers.
(v) relevant BBC News reports
(vii) detailed PowerPoints to broaden knowledge and instill enthusiasm beyond specification content. These are useful, when combined with learning logs, for university interviews.
