I was awarded a top academic and music scholarship to Eastbourne College aged thirteen.Having received 13 A* grades at GCSE, 5 As at AS level and 4 As at A level, as well as being awarded the position of head girl, I was accepted into Cambridge University where I did a BA in English. I then went on to do a Masters in Drama at The Guildhall School of Music & Drama from which I have recently graduated. I am an actress by profession as well as a singer, director and writer. In my spare time, aside from teaching, I spend a lot of time at the theatre, concerts, galleries and reading.
I have been tutoring privately for over three years with students from age 4 to adult learners. The subjects have ranged from English, Maths and Science to piano and singing lessons. I have also had teaching experience abroad, teaching English as a foreign language in Indian and African schools.
I aim to make learning fun whilst also ensuring fast and effective progress. I ensure that I get to know my students' ways of learning as soon as possible in order to tailor my tutoring style to their individual needs. I hope to be able to offer a way of learning different but utterly beneficial to the current exam syllabuses which can often seem fairly daunting and rigid on first impression. Teaching has always been a great passion of mine and one to one tutoring is the most rewarding, in its opportunity for directness and specificity.
