I'm currently a modern foreign languages teacher at a school in Harrow for pupils aged 11 - 18, where I teach French from beginners to A Level and Spanish from beginners to GCSE. Before that I taught French to KS3 and GCSE and Spanish from beginners to AS And A2 at a school in Cumbria for pupils aged 13 - 18.
Having studied law at professional level and worked for a City law firm, I have also taught and lectured in law at a college of further education, delivering courses at BTEC and professional level, as well as ILM Level 3 and Level 5.
Teaching French and Spanish from beginners to A Level - about 10 years in the classroom and 5 years of tutoring, to pupils at all levels of ability and confidence. I've tutored a number of students in both languages since I started in 2008. Some have been KS3 and KS4, whilst a few have been KS5. There have been some adult beginners and a few university students.
Teaching and lecturing in law - about 3 years in the classroom and 5 years of tutoring, again to a range of ability levels. Mostly KS5 and professional level students, including some at undergraduate law students.
This really depends upon the student and what their requirements are. Having assessed what the student is aiming to achieve, how much time we have and what their level is, I then work with them to get them to the requisite level of knowledge and confidence. I'm happy to end the tutoring when they have got to that level. I am used to teaching both high-achievers and those who need a little help and confidence-building.
