Based in Guernsey GY6. I teach French and Spanish from beginners to GCSE and A Level. I’ve also taught IGCSE and IB. I previously spent 4 years teaching in China as well as 2 years in Nigeria and many years at independent schools in the U.K. I have over 20 years teaching experience.

Tutoring Experience

Teaching French and Spanish from beginners to A Level - about 20 years in the classroom and 5 years of tutoring, to pupils at all levels of ability and confidence. I've tutored a number of students in both languages since I started in 2008. Some have been KS3 and KS4, whilst a few have been KS5. There have been some adult beginners and a few university students.

Teaching and lecturing in law - about 3 years in the classroom and 5 years of tutoring, again to a range of ability levels. Mostly KS5 and professional level students, including some at undergraduate law students.

Tutoring Approach

This really depends upon the student and what their requirements are. Having assessed what the student is aiming to achieve, how much time we have and what their level is, I then work with them to get them to the requisite level of knowledge and confidence. I'm happy to end the tutoring when they have got to that level. I am used to teaching both high-achievers and those who need a little help and confidence-building.
