I am a History teacher with strong experience having taught in secondary schools, an FE college and grammar schools. I am passionate about History and this is reflected in my significant academic experience, which greatly informs my teaching style.
I currently work in a comprehensive secondary school and teach History at key stages 3, 4 and at A-Level. I have previously taught at a grammar school and FE college so have worked with a wide range of students. Before teaching in schools I completed a Doctorate in Imperial and Commonwealth History and lectured at both the University of Worcester and at the LSE, so I have a considerable amount of subject expertise.
I encourage my students to approach History as an academic discipline, without losing sight of the sense of mystery and exploration that makes the subject so exciting. I work with students to help develop their knowledge and skills, enabling them to develop as Historians and to ensure they are able to reach their potential.
