I am an English tutor with over ten years' experience of teaching all levels and ages in England, Poland and the Czech Republic. I am also a prize-winning poet and a translator whose love of language and self-expression informs his teaching.
I have taught all levels of English as a Foreign Language (IELTS, CPE, CAE, FCE) with my students achieving 'A' grades and high IELTS scores (7.5 and above) and also teach ESOL, EAP and ESP.
I have a 100% pass rate in teaching IGCSE English, and have tutored GCSE and A level English literature and language.
My Business English experience includes Skoda executives in the Czech Republic, factory workers in Raciborz, Poland and a law firm in Paris. I have taught bespoke courses for business professionals in Bath and written and delivered Study Skills courses to MA Business students at Greenwich School of Management.
My Creative writing classes are informed by own experience as a writer and attendee of numerous courses myself, including several in Arvon and at the Poetry school. While at South Thames College I set up a cross-campus writing competition with prizes sourced from local firms. I wrote and delivered a history of English literature to MA students from Germany and Switzerland.
I believe in bringing the world into the classroom, and have a creative approach to teaching which brings results. In 2012 I was rated 'Outstanding' by South Thames College. I set high standards by example, tailoring my teaching to each student's individual needs. By explaining why a piece of learning might benefit a student, they are far more likely to both master it and employ it.
