Personal Description:

I am a professional mathematics teacher and maths tutor committed to helping children to improve their confidence and achieve success in mathematics.

I have over a decade of teaching experience from ages 11-18 in schools and sixth forms, which allows me to swiftly form working relationships with students of varying backgrounds. I am also an expert examiner for the major examining bodies Pearson and OCR and therefore able to provide specific feedback with regards to assessment for learning as well as preparation for terminal examinations

I believe that mathematics is at the heart of education, a life skill which provides a unique and powerful perspective on the world.

Tutoring Experience:

I have mentored mathematics pupils helping them to:

*Acquire and develop study skills by setting clear objectives, deadlines, and meeting regularly to monitor progress.

*Improve self-esteem and develop certain skills, behaviour and attitudes towards learning.

*Develop a greater awareness of the opportunities offered by Higher Education

Institute of Education, University of London

*Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Secondary Mathematics (11 Years Teaching Experience from KS3 to A-Level)

Proven Track Record: Core 1 to 4 modules taught to KS5 pupils with 100% achieving A*-C, targeted intervention sessions delivered for GCSE pupils resulting in 96% achieving A*-B, KS3 Pupils have moved up a set in their maths class in at least 1 school term.

Tutoring Approach:

My improvement programme empowers and equips learners to build resilience, understanding and attainment in maths. All can enjoy and succeed in mathematics if given time to fully explore concepts as deeper understanding comes from investigating ideas, rather than accelerating through new topics. While the new GCSE and A level curriculum evolves, the ethos behind it remains the same. The principles are interconnected and together the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

I tutor in Maths from KS2 upto A-levels in the UK. I am familiar with all aspects of the National Curriculum and successfully differentiate academic work to meet the needs of individual pupils. Nonetheless, as mathematics is an international language, I am able to support your progress online or in-person in your particular country.

I also use tutoring to compliment learners school/college maths lessons by keeping regular communication with the topics covered in class to reinforce core mathematical concepts and revise for specific forthcoming tests/examinations. This has resulted in learners achieving their goals, whether that be moving up a set in school or acceptance into their 1st choice Russel Group University.
