I am an experienced and highly motivated science teacher in a local grammar school, with a track record of helping my students to achieve top grades. Five years working as an A-level chemistry examiner has given me detailed insight into the requirements of the exam boards and my background as a research chemist in the pharmaceutical industry and academia has given me an understanding of the skills and standards that universities and future employers require.
I have seven years experience of teaching chemistry up to A-level in two local grammar schools, as well as science to GCSE standard.
For me, it is crucial that students understand the requirements of their course, in order to identify their own weaknesses and gaps in knowledge. This allows tutorial sessions to be used to cement understanding, unpick misconceptions and ultimately prepare for exams by studying exam technique and practising questions. I also help my students to develop their own revision resources tailored to their own needs to aid independent study between sessions.
