Originally from the North West, I've lived in Sheffield since 1988 and am a physics teacher in a successful school in Sheffield. I have a passion for physics and believe almost anyone can find success in the subject given the right guidance. As a practising teacher I have up to date knowledge of current specifications, familiarity with all recent exam questions and have a current DBS check.
I've taught in two schools in Sheffield since I entered the profession in 1993. I've been teaching A level for five years. Currently teaching AQA and OCR at GCSE and AQA at A level. I have tutored to the OCR A level specification.
This is very much dependent on the preferred learning style of the individual. My default approach would be to cover a section of the specification and check understanding of the statements and then tackle an appropriate number of past exam questions in order to cement the understanding and, equally as importantly, gain as much experience of the type of questions encountered in the final exam. This approach wouldn't necessarily be ideal for everyone, though, so I am happy to go with whatever works for each person.
