I'm a currently practising Physics teacher who regularly tutors A-level Physics students during evenings, weekends and school holidays.
I have been online tutoring for several years, and am experienced using online whiteboards, screen sharing and other tools to make the tutoring experience as engaging and impactful as possible.
Being an active Physics teacher I have access to a wide range of excellent teaching resources as well as exam past papers and I have a strong understanding of mark schemes and how to guide students to maximising their marks in the exam.
I have a first class Physics degree from Durham University and a long career in business before becoming a teacher, so bring both a deep understanding and passion for the subject as well as broad life experience to my teaching.
Qualified secondary school Physics teacher, currently in a full-time teaching role.
3 years of A-level tutoring experience, including voluntary work with Oxbridge candidates from disadvantaged backgrounds aiming for A* grades
Experience using a variety of online tutoring platforms and am very comfortable making the most of online technology to enhance the learning experience.
Before teaching I spent 25 years in senior business finance roles, so have a broad perspective on education and careers.
I am passionate about the subject and take a friendly approach but with high expectations of students.
Doing well in Physics requires a strong understanding of the core concepts but also good technique at approaching problems and answering numerical questions. My tutoring tests that core understanding first before focusing on question and exam technique to secure the marks needed for the best possible grade in the exams.
