I am an ex-secondary school Science teacher with a passion for teaching and working with young people, and ensuring students enjoy while they learn. Previous to this, I was a lecturer and university researcher, I have a PhD in upland soil processes, and I have run my own business as an environmental consultant!

Tutoring Experience

I have 15 years experience supporting GCSE and A-level students to successful grades. I work with all the exam boards, particularly Edexcel and OCR. I have a PGCE, I was Trainee Teacher of the Year, and I also have a PhD and 5 years lecturing experience.

Tutoring Approach

I will break difficult topics down into bitesize chunks. I will help motivate you and give you the skills to face exams calmly and with confidence. I will provide clear explanations, help to put Science into everyday contexts, develop your skills in exam questions and extended writing and use a variety of approaches to ensure you grow in confidence as a learner. I am an excellent communicator and, with several years of private tutoring experience, I am confident at putting students back on track in their learning.
