This is how 2 referees rated Manraj:
I am a full time Professional Tutor who has been teaching for eight years. Passion, Energy and Patience with a strategic approach is what I would describe my teaching style. As a person I am a very calm and patient individual with good listening skills. I gain great satisfaction from seeing my students get exceptional results, as a result of their hard work and my guidance.
My aim is to inspire every student i teach while instilling confidence in their academic ability, this intern leads to a high quality learning experience for my tutees. I specialise in Exam Technique Methods as part of the overall teaching process.
Having been an examiner for both Edexcel and AQA i am aware of what the examiners look for when marketing exams.
I also teach the following exam boards: [ EDEXCEL, AQA, OCR, IB, JEB, CIE, WJEC]
I started tutoring with a few students, overtime I have taught in excess of 280 students.
Teaching gives me great satisfaction as i see my students progress from our first lesson to our last.
All my past and present students have all had different learning abilities allowing me as a tutor to develop along the way.
Therefore each lesson is specifically tailored to meet the needs of the tutee and his/her learning style.
On average (90-94%) of my students have gone onto achieve (A*/A) within their overall A-level grade.
I am very passionate about the subjects i teach and feel that by instilling the same amount of passion and interest for the student goes a long way when aiming for the top grades.
Taking a structured approach in my teaching method gives the student clarity, especially when revising for exams.
Learning and revision are both a simultaneous process and I practice that from my first lesson with each student.
I adapt my teaching style to individual needs as that is the best-proven way to enhance learning.
Therefore each lesson is tailored to the student taking into consideration their strengths and weaknesses.
Before the first lesson I aim to have a conversation with the student or parent over the phone to first
discuss what the student is finding difficult in the subject and overall what outcome the parent/ student are looking for.
Economics can be a very enjoyable subject if taught in the correct way. Therefore I thoroughly prepare my students beyond the scope of the specification or exam board they may be sitting.
As a tutor I bring with me a variety of RESOURCES which have proven to be useful with my past and current students.
- BANK OF DEFINITIONS;which is related to each exam board to allow my students to gain those extra marks in
each exam, which in turn will mean forsaking unnecessary time in note taking.
- MODEL ANSWERS; each exam tends to have an essay question, for which I intend to teach students
how to answer by allowing them to form their own model answer.
- EXAM TECHNIQUE; All my notes that i provide emphasize the importance of exam technique and how to answer short
and long essay questions.
- REVISION TECHNIQUE; I teach my students in a thorough yet concise manner, whereby they are able to grasp the topic
in question utilising one or two methods.
- LESSON NOTES AND REVISION NOTES;I provide all my students with notes therefore allowing them to focus their time
on exam questions.
- QUESTION BANK; I have a database of all questions, which relate to each topic from various exam boards including
Edexcel,OCR, IB, AQA.
- HOMEWORK; at the end of each lesson I give homework to my students which can consist of a mini topic test or a set of
questions related to the topic learnt.
- CONTACT; Learning is not just limited to our lesson, i am always available to my tutees throughout the day via email,
text and phone call.
My aim is to help the student achieve the highest grade possible whilst instilling greater understanding in the subject. After teaching many students i have seen, everyone has the ability in achieving an A* however many students do not have the guidance required or in some cases cannot pin point why they not able to see the progress.
As a full time tutor my only commitment is my students and I give my utmost time and effort to all my students.
Please feel free to message me if you have any further questions as I will endeavor to answer them.

I’m sure he is very good but just not willing to commit to more than an hour
Focus on exam technique has helped me already increased my essay grades from a D to an A with the concise essay plans Manraj has provided me with.
If you are looking for a tutor to teach you in a concise way, that is also exam focused. I would recommend Manraj
I would recommend Manraj to any parent looking for a first class tutor.
I am writing this after finishing all my exams. I have got A* for new spec economics (UMS 98 referring to copied score report on my paper). New spec was really confusing, and since 1 more exam is added, and one-off exam covers all, which means I had to cover all the specification which has continued throughout 2 years. Manraj kept making me feel confident about my economics knowledge and exam skills, although I found it difficult to continuously getting satisfactory results. When the exam date was coming, he has supported me with helpful exam related materials, and really, I could fully prepare on some of the topics that actually came up in the real exam.
Korean is my first language, and English is my third, it was really hard for me to deal with essay subjects (other subjects that I have taken is maths and further maths). But thanks to his concise use of vocabs and sentence structure, 99% of the lesson was understandable, and other 1% could also be fulfilled when you ask him to rephrase what he said.
Manraj has supported me throughout the A2 year. I'm living all by myself in london, without any family members living here. Whenever I had problems with my school or health, he always gave me helpful advice to resolve problems, and I truly believe that he would not only be an excellent tutor, but also would be a mentor. Hope this review helps some of the A level students who have achieved low grades on AS exams, or the ones who are afraid of new spec exams.
Calm approach and takes the time prior to the appointment with parents and feedback email thereafter.
