This is how 3 referees rated Maher:
As a tutor I teach:
Biology, Chemistry and Physics GCSE
Chemistry AS and A level
Chemistry International Baccalaureate (IB)
As well as an experienced teacher, I am also a devoted family man. With two children already in university, studying medicine and law, I am aware of the hardships that studies such as chemistry can cause. I have always had a passion for the subject but this is by no means my only area of interest. My love for science is combined with a natural artistic talent and an interest in mathematics.
I have been in main stream teaching for over 20 years in which i have taught all abilities for both sexes in a range of schools. This includes the exceptional performing students who aim for top careers in, for example, medicine. I have also taught all age groups from Year 7 all the way to Year 13, but my main focus is GCSE and A level chemistry. I currently teach at the Leigh Academy in Dartford (previously the Leigh CTC) where I have been since 1998. I have also been a private tutor for the past 5 years and have had a 100% success rate with all my students achieving the grades they required. I currently teach OCR (both Syllabus A and Salters) and I have previously taught Edexcel and AQA, so I am well aware of the specifications for a range of exam boards.
I tutor catering to the needs of each student individually, an initial assessment session involving simple questions and answers on a few basic topics helps me identify the student's ability. Going from there I then see what the pupil wants, depending on whether they simply require aid with a few short topics or in depth analysis of the syllabus. I use a range of past exam papers and key resources, combined of course with their exam board requirements. As an experienced teacher I have also compiled my own extensive notes that are easy to understand and are available to students. So far, all of these combined have been highly successful with many students going into higher education in top universities.

This has provided her with a greater understanding and a welcome confidence boost.
We wished we had found him earlier as the GCSEs are approaching, but we are confident he has made a huge difference already.
