Personal Description:

I'm a third year medical undergraduate, currently taking a year out to study immunology and infectious diseases at Birmingham University. I attained 9 A* at GCSE and 2A*s and 2As at A level. This year I've won over £7000 in academic prizes and research grants in biomedical projects along with a distinction for academic achievement. I take a strong interest in all the sciences and maths because they heavily inform my work in the lab.

I run an epidemiological research society and am on the organising comities of two global health charities and the medical humanities society.

Tutoring Experience:

My teaching is clear and concise, honed by regular presentations to my peers in medical school. Questions arising from these are often challenging, practice in addressing and explaining these issues prepared me for the kind of discussions I have with students. This year I spent three weeks teaching english to 16-18 year olds in Guangdong province, China. I've also spent one year volunteering for an hour a week as a teaching assistant at a local primary school. I've tutored over 25 students one-one.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a student and am friends with students, I know the problems with current teaching and textbooks! My teaching is from the perspective of a student; I will provide tips on how to use the mark scheme to your advantage, clarify confusing textbooks using methods I found useful, and inspire with illustrative examples of theory in practice.
