I am a qualified and enthusiastic primary teacher with over ten years of experience as an educator. Now a professional tutor, I provide the highest quality of learning to pupils from KS1-KS3 in Maths, English, 7+ and 11+ exams, and an qualified in Dyscalculia support. I can tutor within your home in the local area, up to 5 miles, as well as online.
I am skilled in engaging my pupils with their learning and ensuring my lessons are always supportive and nurturing. I am proud of the strong and positive relationships I develop with my pupils and their families. I have experience teaching pupils with various educational needs, supporting children working below-average for their year group and challenging the attainment of higher-ability children. I adapt my tutoring style to the needs of each individual, building trust and confidence while promoting independent learning skills. My passion is to bring out the best in all my pupils.
I enjoy spending my free time walking my dogs in the countryside with their four-legged friends, as well as listening to podcasts, audio books and plays.
My degree is in Primary Education, however I have taught up to KS3 in both maths and English. I am, therefore, very experienced in teaching across the Key Stage One, Key Stage Two and Key Stage 3 curriculum.
Alongside curriculum tutoring, I also provide support for pupils wishing to take the 11+ grammar-school exams and private-school entrance exams. I have excellent success in both exam types.
I am also a homeschool tutor, and so can support and advise families in the flexible way of learning.
As an experienced tutor and content creator, I ensure my lessons are engaging and personalised. I like to adapt my teaching style to the learner's preferred way of learning, whether that is visual, audio or practical.
I teach in a supportive and non-pressurised manner. I care about the happiness and well-being of my students and this is reflected in my approach to their tutoring.
I like to use songs and videos to aid learning, as well as practical resources and games.
My specialist dyslexia support uses kinaesthetic and visual methods and resources to overcome barriers to learning associated with dyslexia and other related needs.
