My name is Louisa. I thoroughly enjoy teaching and love to see students enjoying their studies and reaching their full potential. I have worked for many years as a classroom teacher at local primary schools, covering the full Primary Curriculum. I also run my own, very successful, tutoring business with access to a bespoke and modern classroom in my home as well as online tutoring services for those wishing to work remotely. I'm an OFSTED registered qualified Teacher & First Aider, Police & DBS checks completed & Fully Insured - all available to view together with my student & parent reviews.

Tutoring Experience

I have nearly 25 years experience as a primary school teacher and tutor. My most recent role involved working as a classroom teacher within a local primary school rated Outstanding by Ofsted. I also work on behalf of local authorities and directly with schools to tutor Looked After Children and those not currently able to access education. I have had the experience of working as a private tutor for a leading tutoring company prior to working independently from home. I have taught and tutored across the full range of the primary curriculum, which covers Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 as well as preparing students for 11+ examinations.

Tutoring Approach

I adopt a fun and friendly approach to tutoring. I endeavour to promote a positive and a 'can do' attitude to learning so my students are encouraged to be confident. This confidence will assist students for all challenges tackled both in the classroom and in life. I use up to date computer software to reinforce and enhance the learning. I like to provide homework which will further support the learning from the tutoring session. I feel it is very important to build good relationships with both the child and parent whilst providing regular assessment & reports of the learning progress. I believe in providing a truly personalised learning programme for every student. I believe the environment is also as important and that is why I have created a bespoke and modern classroom in my home which students adore. Students have access to interactive whiteboards, personal computers and learning resources to provide a holistic learning experience. The parents of all my students express their support for both my approach to teaching and the learning environment that I provide. I have many parent reviews expressing their thanks for the progress and increased confidence they see for their children - these comments are available to review. Meanwhile the children tell me that they enjoy their studies in the classroom and tell me that it's FUN!
