Tutoring Experience

I have been involved in delivering workshops into schools since 1998 initially in the field of live-literature. I have run several live-literature groups and spearheaded major events and workshops. I have worked on various youth music and drama projects and with adults with learning disabilities. I ran a schools workshop programme which includes interactive storytelling, poetry and other forms of live lit.

Since December 2014 I have worked as a private tutor, SEN support and with learners who have dyslexia, dyscalculia, autism, school phobia/trauma, home-educated children and in a alternative unit with young people who have been repeatedly excluded from school. I have extensive experience running creative projects with adults with learning disabilities and PMLD also working with children with SEN/ASD. I briefly worked as an ABA tutor.

Tutoring Approach

I have a person centred approach to teaching. I use games, art, online programmes, music and lots of humour to teach. For those who find traditional learning stressful I can also work with stress management and relaxation. I offer a free initial consultation you can meet me and experience my teaching without obligation. One-to-one lessons are term-time only booked one term in advance. Discount for block bookings applies. I also put together learning support packages for students who need tutoring, online support, parent support or support & appeal letters.
