I am a fully qualified primary school teacher and have taught for over 20 years through the primary age range (Early Years - Year Six). I also support children (in their own homes, in school and abroad) with independent school Entrance Exams and those who are struggling with secondary English (including GCSE) and Maths to help them brush up on the basics. I hold a BA (Hons) English with Education Degree (with Qualified Teacher Status). I offer fun online or in-person tuition at times which suit you and your child's needs and in the comfort of your own home. I thrive on seeing children achieve their potential, my motto is, #keepingitfun!

Tutoring Experience

I teach in several local schools, in both Key Stages including Early Years (whole class, group boosters and one to one for children with SEND). I also work as a private tutor, boosting children in English and/or Maths, helping them surpass (or catch up with) age related expectations. I support children with preparation for success in their GCSE English Language and Literature exams, SATs (Yr2/6), 11+ (Year 5/6) Entrance Exams, Phonics tests (Yr1) and Times Tables tests (Yr4) with proven results. This includes building up their self-confidence and gaining an improved attitude to learning. My degree specialism is English with Education. I have taught all primary curriculum subjects and have led mathematics and science within a school, measurably improving their results each year.

Tutoring Approach

Once I have assessed your child, I create a bespoke curriculum reflecting on their specific areas of development and the national expectation for their age group. My aim is to help your child to have fun whilst learning and adopting an 'can do' attitude, which will serve them well beyond education. I identify their preferred style of learning and adapt lessons to reflect their personality and interests. Depending on age, I access both outdoor and indoor environments using games and activities to enhance learning and engagement. As well as in person, I also offer lessons via Zoom. This is very convenient for parents, and my students find this great fun, due to the fantastic learning resources prepared, which are tailored to their individual interests and educational needs. I maintain close communication and feedback with parents (as well as your child's teachers where necessary) and am flexible with timings and arrangements, as I know family life can be busy!
