I am a well-qualified GCSE English exam marker. I have worked in a local grammar school as an intervention tutor. I also have over 20 years' experience with entrance exams at 11, 12 and at 13. I also teach A-level English Language, and English Literature.
I run small groups of three, two, and also do one-to-one.
I am well-qualified. I have worked as a journalist. I am currently a book editor, and a novelist, as well as a tutor.

Tutoring Experience
More than 20 years' experience teaching English at all levels, and all subjects for entrance exams up to 11+.
Success with the Bucks 11+ and with students entering top independent schools including Wycombe Abbey, North London Collegiate, Merchant Taylor's, St Albans, HABS, City of London, and Highgate. (I also teach Maths and non-Verbal Reasoning.)
Very experienced with English Literature and English Language and the requirements of the exams.
Adult literacy at all levels.
My special needs pupils are very dear to me: I have experience with dyslexic, dyspraxic, attention deficit, and high-functioning autistic students of all ages.
Tutoring Approach
I aim to make my sessions interesting and enjoyable as well as educational. I use a wide variety of resources including: coursework books, interactive internet sites, educational games, and videos. I also write my own resources.
I teach one-to-one, in carefully matched pairs,or in groups of three at less cost to you.
11+ is £30 an hour for a place in a group of 3. Individual rate is £55.
GCSE English is £30 an hour in pair or a bespoke group of three, or £55 individually.
