Hello
My name is Linda and I have lived in Perth, Scotland since 1993 and I love it here. I am English and I was born in Liverpool.
I have one daughter and two sons 38, 28 and 26 years old and they all live and work away from home now.
I worked as a Midwife until the year 2000, when I re-trained as a teacher of English as a foreign language at Dundee College.
In 2005 I did my post graduate teacher training in English at Jordanhill in Glasgow.
I have worked in Crieff High School, Perth High School and at Queen Anne's High School in Dunfermline.
I have a lot of experience of teaching on a one to one basis as I also work for a company called Home Language International, they have a programme where the student stays in the Tutor's home and does lessons in the morning and activities in the afternoon.
I also work for the charity Esolperth, which teaches English as a foreign language, most students are one to one, but there are never more than 4 students in a class.
I am a very relaxed and friendly person. I would never raise my voice or criticise a student. However, I do expect my students to do the work I have asked them to do as homework.
My students have a high success rate with good grades as I have prepared many students for all the English exams over the years.
If I felt that a young student was not benefitting from my lessons I would discuss the matter with the parent.
